Family Treasures

I made something today using an antique photo that I have titled...Family Treasures. I think I will make a series of these. I collect these vintage images to use in the ads for my antique and lavender business Lavender & Old Lace. But there is only so many photos one should hoard! I am scanning into my computer the ones that I like but can pass on to my customers. Then there are the ones that I get from Ebay when I win large batches at auction...well the ones that I know I can live with out but have potential...are going into art projects. I am selling them at my antique booth at Sunrise Antiques in Kerrville if anyone is interested! I think this is a great way to share old photos with family too. Just think of the possibilities! It beats sitting around in a drawer.

Today is the first day I am blogging about my art rather than my gardening. I love to work with paper, rubber stamps, ink, paint and all kinds of fibers and fabric. You might call me a mixed up artist rather than a mixed media artist. My intention here is to share my journey of how I use my photographs, stamps and other materials to create art for myself and others. I hope you will enjoy the journey along with me.
